I believe they changed the clutching to give them more low end.
I saw someything about the oneway in the primary being smaller.

i didn't care for mine that much, you can go over to suzuki to see some of my post back in may or so,it had good power and steered pretty easy, the biggest fault i had with it,when you put in 4-wheel drive going up a hill you could hardly hold on to it,diff lock, you could forget about that going up a hill, going down was just as bad,you just could not steer it; i talked to the dealer about it,of course you know what he said, they are all like that, other people on the forums didn't seem to have this problem, they wouldn't fix it,i had no choice but to trade, lost about 2,500 dolllars to boot just to trade.i had a 2006 eiger before that it was almost as bad,the weird thing is though is i had a 2002 eiger and you could hardly tell when it was in 4-wheel drive;suzuki changed something some where because they sure ain't the same.wayouy,out....................

when i looked into buying the suz 450 i found out they had massive steering issues(like you mentioned) and other problems as well and heard the air filter issues w/ letting dirt into the engine causing eary rebuilds and didnt want any part of that.

I had an 05 suzuki vinson and experienced the same steering problems. Great traction, just hard to hang on to. It got stolen. Lucky in a way cuz now i'm into the sportsmans. I love the way they ride and handle. I especially like the AWD system. No stopping, pushing this switch, then that switch, then going over an obstacle, then pushing that switch again, then the other one....you get the idea! I just wanna ride the dang thing! And the EBS and the ADC rock!
