i am going to get the scrambler cam and carb for my 99 sp and while i have it apart i was going to add a 20 over high compression piston.has anyone else done this and how much better will it run?

Adding the Scram carb & cam will give you a max of 20% increase in power similar to the HO 2001 SP (claimed by P). Punching it out to + 0.020" and adding a Hi Comp piston will improve it even more. I believe you will not experience max power gains from these mods until you improve your engines breathing. This would include, exhaust port/pipe/muffler work and air filter/air intake mods.

i have a supertrapp exhaust and a uni filter/would i have to port the head/

When Polaris suped up the 500 with the HO parts, they supposedly also gave it a beefier crank to handle the increased power. Any concerns about the standard crank not being up to the task ?
