I hate it when this kinda crap happens. I looked it up on the Polaris website and I am wrong. Mine was a Polaris Warn. They have recently introduced a private lable Polaris winch. I would still go with a Gorilla from ebay.

Hey guys - new here but was reading these posts and reflecting on a full day of riding yesterday. My buddy and his 700 Grissly got stuck in a muddy river last night and I drove the 500 in to pull him out. We went nose to nose, winch to winch. I ended up stuck and winched myself out of a tree with my Polaris winch - his 6 month old Warn crapped out on him, but not before getting him to the river bank. So no matter whats printed on it, they all have the same ability to die at the wrong time. There was NO funnier site than to see him banging his fist on the Grissly in 3 feet of water..... especially since he's always tooling on me for buying a Polaris...

 

That is exactly why one should never ride alone! Two winches are better than one, if ya know what I mean!!!
