Should I have a battery cover on my battery when it is on my quad to protect it from water and dirt? If so any ideas what kind or where I could get one?

 

they all came w/ a batery cover when new but its not that big of deal to not have one as long as the battery cables cant touch any metal. dirt and water wont hurt anything as the cover wouldnt protect it form them anyways.

 

Just make sure there is a strap on it....This keeps it good and tight......don't want it loose in there!!.....Caper...

 

My 05 800 never had a battery cover....... Does have a strap across it though.

 

no i don't think that the cover not being on will heart it as long as it is straped in

 

You said they come with one? I just bought a new sp 500 ho 2008 and it just has a strap going across the back.Should I call the dealer up and complain that I don't have one? I think I will!

I also have an 08 500 HO - No battery cover. I don't think they come with one.

 

Mine just came with a stap too. My dealer said I didn't need one, but I thought I check with the people that really know.

 

maybe the nw ones dont come w/ a cover now. they really dont do any thing but hold dirt.
