We have no choice ,even if a "Game Warden" stop to check us in the middle of nowhere he can charge us for riding without insurance in Ontario Canada.

I have had two stolen and totaled one....luckily I had them insured and wouldn't think of not having it! I'm surprised anyone will actually insure me anymore! LOL! Bad history! I would check with your auto insurance carrier about whether or not they are covered when in tow....all companies vary and I know mine wouldn't cover them. Theft is the biggest worry of mine! Just made me realize no lock is perfect....if they want it, they'll get it!

Yes ...Here in Ontario,Canada...........We NEED it to ride the trails ......But I would still have it anyway..............As for the paid off thing........What happens if the new and paid for?.
I still would not want to be out that money ..........

My two 2006 Sp 450's were just over $16000.00 incl. tax here Canadian Funds ($7200.00 each) So a small cost for insurance coverage is something I would not think twice about!!.........There no question in my mind!!.......Caper..........

I think many of the larger trail systems here in the US are also starting to require proof of insurance...If I'm not mistaken, Hatfield/McCoy requires an insurance card before you get your riding pass

Unless you can just write a check for a new one, anytime you have anything that is gonna sting if you lose it, insure it. The more things you insure with one company the better it will be.

I include mine on my Farm and Ranch policy. It covers loss and damage plus it falls under my umbrella liability. It's just a few bucks a year.

I am not sure about ATV's but here in Maine on my sleds instead of getting each one its own policy I was able to put them under my Home Owners Policy for 65. per sled flat rate for 3x the coverage, I couldn't believe it, I was able to cover all 3 sleds for 3x the coverage that they wanted to charge me for just 1 sled with its own policy. Its well worth checking into for that amount of savings and added protection coverage.
