Default Hawkeye Clutch upgrade

Has anyone upgraded their performance on their 2006 Hawkeye? I am interested in removing the weights from my clutch but I have a couple of questions. Do you need the t-tool to do it? and where do you order the rollers?

Thanks,

You do not need the T-tool but it helps. Order 8 of the 12g (red) rollers from your polaris dealer provided that you are at low elevations.

u dont have to buy new clutch rollers, just take out 2 opposing rollers and that works but takes off about 5mph top end.

I think Tider and I agree that it is much better to go with the full set of 8-12gm rollers...In my experience removing the 2-14 gm rollers was a bit to much weight to remove and tended to miss match the clutch and engine power curve causing the engine to over rev.

Another consideration is the size of the tires you are running...bigger/heavier tires will work better with lighter clutch weights

It's your decision to make, it seems that the Hawkeye's performance varies somewhat from place to place and owner to owner, you can try removing two opposing rollers and see how it works for you...you can always order the 12 gm roller set if you aren't happy.

8x14gms= 112gms total ('06 stock)

8x13gms= 104gms total (07 stock)

6x14gm = 84 gms total (2 rollers removed)

8x 12gms = 96gms total
