I have had my Trail boss for a little over a month now and i love it. It is also my first quad. The chain hasn't given me any trouble but it hasnt been under heavy use. I think the chain will do just fine as long as i keep up with the maitnance. I was also looking at the 250ex but becuase it was more expensive and it didn't have the good features the boss has. The suspension on the T Boss is great, the big floorboards i like, and the auto transmission makes this a great first quad. The top speed is pretty good (around 40-45mph) Try to ride both before you make your decision.
