Default mounting hardware for rack box

This question is for anyone that has an aftermarket rear plastic rack box on a newer sportsman. I have a 07 sportsman 800 and i just bought a box. What i need to know is the size of the u bolts you used as in length and width to mount the box to the rear rack. I know this sounds stupid but my machine is up north at my cabin and there isnt any close hardware stores nearby. I want to buy what i need before i go. thanks.

what brand of box did you purchase a Pure Polaris box or some other aftermarket brand? This would make a big difference.

guess I'm a little lost here...I was under the impression that Kolpin boxes came with all mounting hardware.

Hmmmm...their site shows their boxes mounted on a Sportsman so I would think it would work but who knows! You can take some bungys along with you just to make sure since they also have mounting locations for bungy cords. Take a look at their site here to get a better idea...

do you have to drill the bottom of your box for the u-bolts?

yes i do have to drill holes. I plan to buy two more u bolts. Just seems too flimsy for just two. Possibly u bolts with a flat plate instead of just nuts and washers.
