When it comes to winch's I truly believe you get what you pay for! Just go up to the search box type in winch and you will see what I mean.

Too many horror stories with viper, gorilla, etc.....very few with warn or ramsey, that's who I would stick with. I look at it this way, when I am stuck (and I do that often!) and my $150 winch fails me (and it will!), while I hike out of the woods for miles, having to leave my quad behind, will I pat myself on the back for saving $300? Probly not! I tell all my friends if there is one place to put your money, put into self recovery. You will never regret it!

i'd go with warn. i have two and never had a problem with either. knock on wood. you never really hear any problems with a warn as you do with other brands.

My first Quad was a 1986' Honda TRX350 Foreman 4x4 with just over 20 hrs. on it , i bought from the original owner and it already had a winch on it ; mounted up front just under the rack it had a custom winch plate welded to the frame and had a 2500 lb. Super Winch !

This was a good winch it's still a good winch , when i sold the Foreman to my brother Nov. 2005 it had a short at the ground wire ; but my brother took the ground wire loose and sanded the spot on the frame then he recconected the wire and it worked like new !

I would say Ramey , Warn and Super Winch were the top 3 brand's , the Super Winch was next to the highest priced of the 3 ; Ramey being the highest priced of the 3 !........

I agree with williebee on the superwinch....they recently ranked second only to warn in a shootout on 4wd trucks. I had a ramsey honcho 5000 on my rhino and loved it! Fast pull and lots of pulling power....all three are well made imo, with superwinch being the least expensive.
