Polaris 500 h.o. or Polaris 500 F.I. -need Opinions on each

The warm up time is shorter and it is "easier" starting and that is all the people are getting at. I didn't read anything "trashing" carbs but, if we always had efi would you accept carbs if they came out?

I'll make that up in one season, When I am not waiting for my Popo 600 to warm and am out Plowing! LOL

On the 400 vs the 500 scenario I made a couple of observations.
300/400 is a smaller bike than the 500. - I am a big guy and my son is getting there too. I sat on the 300/400 it felt more "toyish" too small for my tastes. The 500 Sportsman just plain felt more stable to me.
300/400 was single speed and didn't offer ADC - since this was to be mostly momma's bike it had to have that. The Deluxe models of the 500 Sportsman offer ADC and all of them were L/H range or two speed.
300/400 didn't offer the extended fraem 2 seat model. We got the 500 X2 deluxe model in Blue. That was her choice of color...
You know the Rule, when momma's happy everyone is happy and when momma's not happy no one is happy.
Just my .02

I not sure how a EFI can warm engine oil up faster? They both idle at the same rpm and that whats warms up a engine. The carb and Efi just supply fuel to keep the motor running until it warms up.
My 04 EFI truck cant move the temp needle faster in to the wam zone than my old 1980 f-150 did on those cold winter mornings.
All I,m saying is the EFI has no $900 advantage from what I notice riding with them.
Jumping on and riding a cold engine in the dead of winter before the oil is warmed up is crazy, EFI or Carb.

To me it's $900.00 worth of no headaches!
Don't get me wrong as I still have my carbed Popo 600 for 4 wonderfull years but hopefully soon it will be replaced with a EFI unit!

You must of had some hard luck. Our 7500 mile 97 Sportsman 500 and 8100 miles 500 Ski-doo never had the cabs touched or removed. Things were replace over the miles but the carbs never needed any attention.
I think thats why I like the carbs they already prove themselves, even at the same price I,m not sure I would switch yet,
but that extra 20 mile riding range a EFI can provide over the carb is a very tempting advantage to my needs.
