Default steering! need help!

ok, i let my friend ride my 06 hawkeye and he bumped the front right tire against a big tree. it bent the little curve on the rim, just the outside lip, and the steering is now messed up. when the handlebars are pointed straight, the tires are slightly to the right. so when i ride straight, the handlebars are turned slightly to the left. how would i correct this problem?

and also, how do you take off the little button things that hold on the plastic foot boards and the cover to the electric dash?

any help is appreciated guys!

sounds like he hit it harder then you probally think. you may have a couple bent tie-rods and ends, or messed up the steering shaft....................shea..................... ........

well, is there any way to just turn it like what you would do in a bicycle so it steers straight? and i looked at them and didnt notice any major bends, but he just hit the right wheel.

nope just adjust the radius rods but it sounds like you bent teh bottom part of thestering shaft were the tirod ends bolt on that is the only way i could think of that would effect both tires. if that is true it has a chance of snapping and having no steering and you having an accident.

so that is the place where the steering shaft ends and has the 2 tie-rods connected to it? and is that something that i would need replaced, or bend it back? it wont be long until i have to bring it in for the 50 hours service mark. how much would the replacement piece cost?

as far as the "little button things" assuming you're talking about the plastic rivets, you take a flat screwdriver and turn it in the little notch , wich pushes up the top, center part of the rivet

also I would jack it up and have someone turn the handle bars to see if the steering post is bent near where the tie rods attach

it steers great just like it always has except for the handlebars being off center. also, this messed up my steering travel. now it can turn LESS to the left and way MORE to the right because when the handlebars are straight, it is already turned a little to the right. i will jack it up and look at it either sometime this week or this weekend because its at my weekend lake house. but it seems to effect both wheels evenly.
