My 97 Scrambler 4x4 400 will click into forward,but pops right back out. It will not go into reverse at all, just acts like neutral. Yes I've tried adjusting the linkages. Pull trany out???

 

if you adjusted teh linkage the only thing i could think of is to pull teh tranny out for that year you could prob use new bearings anyway. maby the shifter thing that slides back and forth and has noches in it and has a lil ball and a spring that keeps it in gear. teh spring and ball are probably warn/ broken . polaris wants around 30 dolars a bearing and i searched the number on the side of the bearing on google and found the same bearing for $9 same bearing and it is working great.
