need help with carb questions?

ok i have a '97 sportsman 500, im havent alot of the same problems that im read everyone else has. i just have a question on the diaphragm assy i can move it up and down working fine, but the needle that comes out of it can stay up in the assembly should it be spring loaded to allways stay down??

yes it should stay down. Get a pic of the carb assy in a parts book and you should find what is missing and not holding the needle in place. I would guess the ring 3130507 is missing.

thanks, i didnt think i could take the rubber piece off at first but after doing so, the spring that holds it down had come off, so after my wheeler run bad and it just sitting for months i put the spring back on are runs like a champ. thanks for the help
