Default Scrambler 400 Counter Balance Oil

I just drained my counterbalance on my new-to-me Scrambler and got about a teaspoon out of it. Yikes!

I refilled it and got almost 8 ounces in it when it showed up on the dipstick. Where did all that oil go!? Manual says 3 ounces!

Any ideas? BTW it runs great and isn't smoking any more than normal.

Weird.

Does your pull-start rope have oil on it? Thats where my counter balance oil went.
