Yes it will fit. I had a 400 in the back of an F-150 and it fit great. I then got a dodge and it fit but I had to back it in. Shut tailgate on both trucks. I would consider fixing that trailer for its alot safer to load. Please be carefull! Nothing sucks worse than rideing hard all day and getting back to the truck only to knock yourself out loading up. Don't take off the helmat until you finish loading.(If your on it, helmet should be on you.)

yep i always were my helmet when i get on my atv. i live northen IL and sadly the trailer is starting to rust out. im may condsider a smaller trailer so i can put in the garage with the atv maybe a 4x6?
also yeah it can get kinda dangerious on these taller trucks loading the quad
i had a yamaha warrior come off the ramp lucky the i was ok and the quad wasnt hurt. right now im trying to figure out the right quad for my slef to.
i had 2004 sportsman 500 but i had to sell it do to job loss. now ive got a better job so im looking into a new quad.

I lean to the smaller ones because of the price but since there still putting out the 500HO sportsman i may consider one of those. it really sucked selling my quad but sometime you just dont have a choice
The only problem ive got with the bigger atvs is when the trails get tight
it doesnt happen offten tho
also im 6ft 160lbs
in 2007 i use to be 190lbs but droped the weight i feel so much better

I got a 4x6 trailer too. I had to lay the gate back a little and use a chain the hold the gate up. The racks stick out farther than the wheels so the quad fits on the trailer but it is to long to be able to shut the gate. Fell off the raps a few times my self. I just had to sell my Dodge last week do to high gas prices. It was a sweet 06 ram 1500 4 door. I traded it for a 08 Ford Focus. It worked out to be a cheaper paymant, lowered insurance, and gave me 40 mpg. I left the dealership and went and bought a 6 x 12 to haul the atvs behind my Jeep Wrangler. I had to cut off the front side railing to be able to ramp one up on the front side ways. I then rigged up a nice looking chain to fill in the cap and hold the atv in. I was going to buy the atv hauler(the one with the ramp on the back and side) but the one with out the side ramp was 500 dollars cheaper. I had 100 + dollars in my bi-fold ramps so I said I would use them. I hate to put that kind of strain on my Jeep but at least I got that strain off my pocket book.

A lot of "six-foot" boxes are actually six-foot-six so that makes a big difference. Be careful hauling in the truck, and get a bigger trailer if you can afford it. If you ever get an X2 or use wheel spacers you'll need a new trailer. A full-size quad like a 500 is already 4 feet wide and almost 7 feet long. If you put wheel spacers on it can be over 4-1/2 feet. One guy on this forum has a quad that's 4-feet-seven-inches wide. My 5x8 trailer has plenty of room for a full size quad and can hold a ton of weight.
