Going deep with an 800
#1
For all of you who go deep with their 800's how are your starters holding up? My scrambler needed to have it replaced 3 times in 5 years. Every time it was just rusted tight. My problem is i ride em hard and put em away wet for an extended period of time. Any tips to keep the starters in good working order?

ya i also think the newer bikes have better starter set ups where i knew a guy w. an older 500 that had issues w/ his doing the same thing when he rode in alot of water.

IMO, the newer sportsmans are the best water machines made. I never had any problems with any of the electronics, belt box or airbox leaking with mine. All I ever done to mine was change wheel bearings and break pads. I had a crankshaft seal go out on the flywheel side one time but that was it. O, and I busted the front chunk one time too. It was messed up when I got it though. Stupid plastic bearing cage broke.
