Default 08 Sportsman 800 skid plates

Hello guys and gals,

I am new to the forum. I have just purchased a new 08 Polaris Sportsman. I have been cruising the web for full skid plates for my bike and I can't seem to find anyone who sells a full set of them? Can any of you folks help me out? I also would appreciate any feedback from any of you folks who read this and have an 800 EFI Sportsman. I would like to know what ya'll think of your wheelers.

welcome to the forum. i love my 800 and since this is my 2nd one i can can tell besides the bad gas mialgae theres not much i dont like. as far as a skid plate i dont have one as there pretty well protected under stock and i dont try to use it to run over bolders and slide over any. but thats not to say i dont bang off a few that doesnt have enough clearance. there is a few copanies that do make them.

IMO, I don't think you really need a skid plate they have a steel one built in. We ride in WV , very rocky in some place's and never had a problem. If anything maybe some front a-arm guard's, save money for other mod's, check ricochet if you really want the skid's.

This weekend i installed a full set of skid plates on my 2004.5 sportsman 600. got them from ebay and pure polaris site. took about 2 hours doing it by myself. i could see where you may not need the full skid plate, but i figure i would rather beat up the skid plate than the frame of the atv. i think it was worth it to me.
