Moving gearshift on a 2005 preddy??
#1
Okay, have new boots and want to adjust the gearshift up on the preddy.
Loosened the little nut on the side and spread the gap thingy so you would think I could pull the shifter off and reset it where I want it, but no................
Something is holding it on? Why does this seem harder than the hondy or the blaster?
Help, but make it simple because I am not a hugely tech savvy kind of girl.
Big thanks!

It will come off, probly just stuck...tends to get grime and some rust down there. Try some liquid wrench or wd40 and maybe that will loosen it up. But, that is all that holds it.

Hey jumbofrank, the mallet trick doesn't work on locks does it? LOL! Sorry, couldn't help it, but thats from one poor sucker who got their sh*# stolen to another! I've come to the conclusion that nothing is safe anymore, if they want it they will get it. Insurance is the best defense cuz I couldn't be lucky enough to catch them in the act....of course, then I would just go to jail!

Not on locks, but I'm ready to start cracking skulls if I catch them.
I can fix almost anything with the right hammer.

You have to remove the bolt to remove the shift lever, ther is a groove that the bolt rides in.

Thanks, Kerbbirds, got it moved.
Jumbofrank, I hear ya about the mallet. When the rear wheels on my little guy's outlaw wouldn't turn, I whacked the rear brake housing thingy with a hammer and it was as good as new.
Firehog, I have had a blaster, a 250 ex, 400 ex, 450r, and a grizzly. I love my pred so much (its a 03), that I got my son one too when he turned 16. Its a fun, fun machine for the dunes, but a little wide for the woods trails we were on this weekend.
