Default Winch mount help

I have a 2006 sportsman 500 HO.

I am looking for a winch mount to fit this ATV. But I have a couple different options that say they will work but look really different.

The Warn one says not recomended for plows, whats up with that? And Gorilla winches gives me 2 options and I don't know which to choose.

Can any one tell me what winch mount I need for this ATV and I will use it for a plow also.

Thanks alot for any help ya'll can give!

The winch cable gets a lot of wear when you plow because of the angle, but a synthetic rope eliminates the problem that steel cables have. I used a Polaris/Warn winch on my '06 Sp 500 with a Glacier Plow and it didn't kink the cable, but on my older quad it got messed up after a few years. I've been using Warn winches for 10 years and like them but other people have their favorite brands.

Whatever winch you get, let all the cable out and rewind it under tension to avoid screwing it up later. You don't want it sliding down into a loose pile on the spool because it can get stuck in there. I hook on to my truck and winch up the driveway with the quad in gear, not neutral.

If you already have a Superwinch, just use one of their mounts.

No problem Kid. That's why when you get it mounted you have to unwind THE WHOLE CABLE, wrap 3 or 4 times around the spool, and rewind the rest of it under tension to get the cable stack up straight. If you don't and it pulls down into the stack when you use it you're screwed. You could be stranded until you can jerk the cable back out. When I take my plow off for the year I have to retension the cable because it has a lot of slack in the outer layer of the spool.
