Used Vs New
#41
I see more Polaris ATVs on the trails than any other brand. Just trail-riding, that's all. No destroying them in mud pits. The maintenance seems simple to me. Grease a few places when you change the oil, a couple of times a year. Check all your fluids in between then.

never buy new unless you have money to burn like that,
no point, you loose a ton right when you walk off the lot
New is for people with no mechanical knowledge/motivation to fix, have money to **** away, and like to be ignorant about their vehicle.

Yes thats ME! and wearing a GREEN SHIRT!..RAAAAGGHH! -- LOL
Actually I am the sweet ole teddy bear type, is what the wifey says about
me. Ho Hum
Man, really great replys! I must single out ThorATV, nice post! Yes that is the
bottom line I really wanted to come to is how are the USED POLARIS machines.
Seems to me its like any other, and its how well the previous owners have taken
care of them. Maybe buying used quads certified and/or warrentied by the dealer
MAYBE the way to go? I know my dealer whom I bought new from also pushes
used ATV from all the trades he gets. He really doesn't like doing Trades since
he markets NEW ones so well!
But know I think of it, I have never priced out his USED ATV line ups. My intention
is I will enjoy the ones I own and fix them as they break and be happy. But I
have relatives and friends that would like to Join the Polaris gang and just want
to be good looking out for them!

Hey! R,
I bought a used 03 Sportsman 400 4x4 last year with great trepidation after reading about used machines and looking a real junk out there but I have been pleasantly surprised.Mine had 650 miles on it and in great shape(I had to replace a CV boot).I have thoroughly enjoyed this ATV.
I think you can find good used ones out there but you've got to be careful.

With 650 miles I would think finding a lemon would be less likely than finding a good ATV. Even a ATV with 650 miles of hash riding should hold up well I would think.
