Howdy everyone......I was checking out the Yamaha site and noticed the gated shifter on the Grizzly 700. This looks nice compared to the Polaris' shift lever which reminds me more of a riding lawnmower shift type. Are the gated any smoother....any better....any anything?

The inline is just way simpler and easier to use. That's why they started using that instead of the old style.

In line on the Polaris. It is still notchy. Sometimes going from Park to Reverse it is easy to go past and have to pull back one gear. You definetly know when you are in a gear.

To me the gated shifter just looks so much better than the "open stick" type. My 2007 500 X2 shifter is "smoothing" out a bit from when it was new. Still feels a bit clunky though.

The "straight" shifter is one of the things that draws me to PO when plowing, pulling trees it is just fwd all way to L or back to R. No fishing.
