What generation would be the 2008 model sportsmans?I was just wondering because I am looking at accessories and they say it will fit such generation etc.Thanks for any info! My sportsman is a 500 ho carb model...

 

I believe they're generation VI. One of the guys who has one may know.

 

Okay to expand a little. What all generations would work with
my 2006 and 2008 models? Cuz I know they take the same
bumpers and racks, cuz I switched them out. My cousin could
benefit too, b/c he hadn't yet bought all his bumpers, racks
and brushguard there maybe a few more options for him. FYI,
he is pretty Frugle!

The '08 is the same generation as the '07 and '06 and '05. Whichever generation that is I don't know.

Actually the sportsman series after 2004, the body style is the year number so Yes a 2004 is a GEN IV but a 2005 is a 2005 bodystyle, a 2006 is a 2006 body style so forth. Anything from 2005-2008 will usually retro fit each other.

 

I think 2005-2008 Sportsmans are Gen VI, but I can't be sure. I don't even know if there is a Gen. V. Gen. IV+ was the Sportsmans from 2001-2004. Gen IV Sportsmans started in 1996, <u>not</u> 2004. My 1997 Sportsman 500 was a Gen. IV. Gen III is the Scrambler and Trailbazer. The Trailboss from 1996-2008 is Gen. II.
