Silver Lake Trip: Weekend of May 12th... who is coming?

My buddy and I plan on coming. I probably will be riding the trail boss and he will be bringing his Scrambler 500. If he is still laid off (GM worker), we may come up on Friday morning and ride Friday and Saturday. Another buddy and his brother may come also. They have to see if they can get off. We live on the edge of the Ohio/Michigan border, so it will only be about 4 hours for us to get there. Seems like you have people coming from everywhere.

SP500inNS...By my buddy's calculations we are about 12 hours away. I don't think they rent quads there but maybe someone in a nearby town does. I could picture a Sportsman in the sand! An Xpedition would be fine too.
By the way for those of you new to this thread, we are also planning on riding before and after that weekend on some "normal" trails...so if you don't come for the dunes we could still hook up before or after to ride elsewhere.

The more the merrier! (Is that spelled right? My english really sucks since I have been living in this french speaking province!)hahaha...
By the way, of you guys wanting to come, are you all planning on camping there? Do we need to reserve campsites ahead of time?

Brian,
the 12th sounds great.Im going to let Ecorman know too so he can join us.Im only about 2 hrs away from SL,so I might just drive back home,it depends on if im booked for work or not.Im soon to be a licensed ASI instructor, that, along with my normal job will keep me with limited riding time, but I do plan on making it for at least a day,

Hey, if you haven't already seen this posted over in the "where to ride" section, here's a nice link pertaining to Silver Lakewww.oceana.net/silverlake/. The page covers just about everything you need to know for a trip up there. I even got a better understanding of the voucher system! Does anyone know if they still let you tow your quad behind your truck (like people used to when the lot was full)?

Hey ox~
Well, my dad originally owned all the machines, and when he moves up to a new machine, he has sold them to me for a fairly low price. Scrambler($1,500) in 1998. TW200($500) last year. I live at home, and only have liability on my car. Since I have very minimal expenses, I am able to spend most of my money on "toys". I work a full time job along with being a full time student. My life pretty much consists of school, working, and with whatever spare time is left, I enjoy riding. Day usually begins about 6:00AM to finish some homework, and usually get to bed about midnight. School luckily will end a week before the Silver Lake trip, so I should be able to make it. Being a college student, I have resorted to Ramen Noodles for lunch!!
