I was out riding in a swampy area this evening and started wondering if you could rig up a light to let you know when you are actually in AWD. I'm not talking about when you have it switched on but when it is actually engaged. Is it possible to do this?

I think it would be possible to tap into the wire that energizes the front end so when it engages the light goes on, then when it de-energizes the light would go out. It sounds pretty simple as long as you splice into the right wire.

Yeah I wasnt sure if the hubs engaging was an electrical thing or if it did it mechanically. I know its electric to the diff. but not sure about anything else. I know one of you electric wizards could figure it out, maybe even sell your own kits, but you gotta give me credit and 80% for coming up with the idea

If the AWD switch is on there is always power to the hubs or front diff(depending on model). The AWD engages mechanically once it's armed.Good idea though!
