Default new battery question

Fill it, charge it, check the acid level again. I had a battery where the level was only marked on the side you couldn't see when it was installed. A Sharpie/Magic Marker fixed that right away. That should be on the helpful hints list. Batteries give off pure hydrogen gas when charging. Remember The Hindenburg? Try not to blow anything up.
