help...new head, cam, etc,, and wont start
ETC must have between 1/16 to 1/8" slack!! too much and it wont idle! I have had customers try to adjust carb idle while the problem is too much slack! It will engage the limiter and just die! Adjust cable first, then adjust carb idle when running! Hope this helps

help...new head, cam, etc,, and wont start
update...confirmed cam sprockets were identical...cleaned carb again and confirmed everything in carb is as clean as it can be. unplugged the black wire on the cdi and what do you know....it fires up and runs...not well, but it runs. If I plug the black wire for the CDI back in it still runs until I shut it off. If i plug the wire in while its running, turn the key off, and then try to start it, it will fire and then die?? If I unplug the black wire it will fire and run if I give it a tad bit of throttle. But if I try to drive it it will get up to about 10 mph max and start to bog out?? Brand new cam, head, rockers, and I adjusted the valves when it was hot instead of cold this time. I have no clue what it is now?? It didnt back fire but almost wanted to?? I confirmed timing for the 10th time...it is dead nuts on.
I also got the cam chain adjusted correctly so i know its not that?? I might be dealing with a faulty, but brand new, CDI??
Any ideas?? Im thinking call the dealership and get bigger jets...put my factory CDI back in...and drive it off a cliff??
