Default warn winch switch

Right now I have a 2000lb warn winch installed from new on a 2002 Magnum 500. The system has a relay by the battery, with the old rotary switch installed on the left side of the front rack. The winch stopped working last month. There is power from the relay to the switch, but it doesn't run the winch. If I bypass the switch, the winch is okay. I figure the switch is toast, and it is not serviceable. I am thinking that since I need a new switch, why not go to the handlebar thumb switch. They come with a contactor/relay, I have seen 2 styles, an aftermarket for 12.99 and a warn for 59.95. Are they equivalent? and does the contactor/relay replace both the solenoid and the switch, or just the switch? Just want to make sure I get the right parts, to make it work again.

Thanks

The contactor and thumb rocker switch will replace all of the other components in your older setup. Let me speak from experience.........Get the Warn brand contactor. I went through 3 of the "no-name" ones before i smartened up and bought the Warn part.

Default warn winch switch

they make a updated kit for like $150, for the 2000 to make it a 2500 lb winch which includes wiring and contacter and switch i think. just look around. the gorillas used to have a crappy contacter a few years ago but since have gotten better ones and they were replacing them for customers. i agree warn would be better.
