How to replace worn primary slide buttons ?
#1
It was suggested that I look into these buttons as the culprit of a slight knock at idle. Anywhere I can find a good comprehensive description of how to do this? I hear it's simple....

Best bet is to take the clutch to a dealer. It takes a specail tool for the spider and a good hold down.

Okay. As I have never torn into a ATV tranny...I'll rephrase my question: How do I go about removing the primary clutch?

You will need a clutch puller. But it is worth the money because you will find that you will use it quite often.

Take to dealer! Have to have clutch puller as posted above and clutch holder and spyder tool remover! Spyder torqued past 100 lbs. Plus all marks have realign to balance clutch. They shouldn't charge more than 1 hour to 1 hr and half plus parts! Buttons If I remember run about 7-8 bucks each (6 needed) That is If you bring clutch in! Still have to buy/borrow clutch puller. Good luck
