I would to see Polaris come out w/ a v-twin in their ATVs. I just think that w/all the years the parallel twins have been out, for Polaris to switch to a V-twin design now is unlikely. I'd loved to see a scaled down liquid cooled version of the freedom v-twin Polaris puts in their Victory motorcycles in an ATV.

Djk,
The rubber camshaft thing is a joke, been around since the internal combustion engine was invented. If it worked it would be great, but it won't, at least with the rubber we have available to work with.
A V cylinder configuration or inline configuration doesn't make any difference to power output, everything else being equal. It is for packaging usually, or because some people mistakenly think it makes a difference and would be more likely to buy it. Like Harleys... 88 cuin V twins that make less power than a parallel twin 650 (40 cuin) Kawasaki Ninja. But most Harley owners think otherwise. LOL
Kawasaki's V twin 650 and 750 ATV's are powerful, but it is not because they are V's.

I was comparing the Liberty Twin to the V-twins of Can-Am, Kawasaki, and Arctic Cat.
At 55.4 hp, the Can-Am 650cc makes 5.3 more hp than the Polaris 800. Why? I'll bet is has something to do with cylinder configuration, a shorter stroke, overhead cam, more valves, higher compression ratio, and higher redline. Which brings me back to my claim that Polaris cannot do much more with the Liberty Twin to compete with current V-twins, except to add a turbo or supercharger.
