Hey Everyone,
First wanted to say that these forums are awesome when it comes to anything quad releated. I have been reading for some time now and have found tons of info.

Here is my issue....I have a 2007 Scrambler 4x4 HO 500 and I ride it hard. The problem is with the transmission switch...the switch that will not enguage the starter if not in Neutral or have the parking brake on. When I try to start from Neutral, I will need to jiggle the shifter back and forth a few times before the starter will enguage. Also, I noticed that my Neutral light will not come on...dont know if it is burned out or if it has to do with the switch issue.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Check transmission switch to see if e-clip in place and switch tab securely in notch in trans case to keep from moving. Have replaced a couple faulty switches (one had a small crack and water and mud contaminated) Also check and seal connector with elec type waterproof gel(Niogel)

 

Thanks for the reply. Is the connector in the trans case? I have the serice manual for my machine but it does not show me where the switch is located.

 

Located on right side of trans,cant miss it. Will see shaft turn inside switch as you shift lever. Good luck
