Default 2005 Sportsman 400 and 2006 Sportsman 500 efi

Hello all,
I am new to the forums and just really got involved with riding. I have a couple questions. I purchased a 2006 500 EFI about 6 months ago and my awd is not working properly. When I engage I have to press the reverse/overide button when in low range for it to kick in and also in low range on my electonic screen it does not show the awd symbol in less i press the overide button. Then it takes forever to disengage and here lately it will not at all. It acts as if it is and then a little slippage from back wheels it engages when switch is off. Any help on how to get this fixed would be great. Also I would like to increase power a little, any mods I can make to give this bike a little more power. Also a 2005 400 bought last weekend would like to buy wheels and tires but don't want to go to big. What is too big for this machine. Also would like to mod. a little. Any help?
Thanks

welcome to the forum. you could go w/ 26" tires on the 400 and it wouldnt be too bad as a guy here is running 27" w/ a clutch kit on his. the tranny switch might be bad if requires the override in low. this switch tells the bike what gear its in. if the bike is is kicking in nd out of awd by it self or what not it may have a broken roller cage in the front end. does the speedo work correctly and does it need the override in reverse (it should) or high?
