Default polaris clutch clunk on decelleration

I bought a used 07 700 sportsman no ebs or adc, when I go down a grade or slow up it goes kachunk kachunk kachunk, my dealer said that a lot of 700's do this,my friends 500 doesnot do this, any thoughts or ideas on this.By the way it had only 300 mi on it when I bought now has 600, has done it since I got it , no other problems, great machine,I put a new belt on and inspected the clutch,the belt was still good

from what everyone says thats normal drive line noise... im no expert here so im sure someone else will give you more help or back me up on this one.

Sound like the normal Polaris twin drive line noise. My 800 does it. It also makes some noise when you ease off the throttle and put the drive line in a no load situation.

700 and 800 engines have more noticeable drive line lash than 500 engines because more torque. A little annoying at times but normal. Straight out of crate will do this. Just maintain and will be a good machine. Good luck

thanks for all the info on the clunk, the dealer basically told me same thing but I didn,t beleive him thanks again

it will do it more on starting off and letting off the throttle at slower speeds as well. on twins its fairly normal.

Yep - right on, the Polaris twins use a TEAM secondary clutch which is the source of that clunking. TEAM redesigned the clutch to include rubber dampeners which help alot. You can buy the upgraded clutch with dampeners for about $200 if it bothers you, but other than the noise (which you tune out pretty quickly) theres' no harm to it.
