That's a crock. The temp gauge simply adds a sensor. How can they even attempt to claim warranty violation?
Frankly, I have had one really crappy dealer - (the closest one, 10 min., of course) and one really GREAT dealer (a full hour up the road, Blue Ridge Yam/Polaris.) Sounds like the crap the crappy dealer would pull to squeeze money out of me.
Rights to modify are very clearly stipulated by the Manguson Moss Act and, as NOT a lawyer, cannot believe a temperature sensor voids a warranty. A power chip is a different story.

And what about the second seatback? I keep it up when I ride cause my legs are really long and the darned thing doesn't lock solid. Am I missing the lock on it? If someone was sitting in it, that would not matter, but it annoys me riding alone...

Also to add to a lil to SlashSplats posts, isn't it on Quadovator's web site that none of the Wiring mods (R.working lights
and 3-way headlight, Reverse override) would VOID the warrenty. That is if you got them from them?

This is the only Back bumper I was able to find for an X2 as Polaris does not make one and I put a set on my X2 check my pic's....It was easy to put on also.... Note the side brush bars, with this being a longer and wider unit I found trails can get to be a tight fit and the fenders on an X2 are not cheep. now it does make it wider with the bars but I have scrubed some trees that would have done some damage if not on. GOOD LUCK with your X2 your going to be the talk of the trail when they see it. I know My rides are full of questions from other.

Splashsplat is right. Installing these mods won't void your warranty any more than installing a new stereo in a car. That said, it doesn't mean your dealer will support you if you have mods installed, that's up to the individual dealer. We have many Polaris dealers that sell/install our mods.
I can honestly say, in all the years we've been modifying our machines and selling these mods I'm unaware of ANY instance where a warranty claim has been denied due to any of these mods being installed. But that doesn't mean you couldn't be the first. The decision to provide a warranty repair is about 95% dealer and about 5% Polaris. In other words, if the dealer wants to help you out on a warranty issue he'll write it up in a way that the manufacturer will accept and get it covered for you. If he doesn't, he won't. Most dealers want to keep their customers happy and coming back for future business so they're willing to work with you to the degree they can.
All our electrical mods are designed to what I call "fail safe" standards. By that I mean, if installed according to instructions, should any part of the mod fail it (1) won't damage the machine and (2) won't disable the machine. If one of our mods should fail it would simply mean that modification would cease to function, not the whole machine. For those of us who enjoy this sport many miles from any sort of service facility the "fail safe" aspect of our products is very, very important.
You may want to tell your dealer what mods you're planning to install and ask if they are going to have any warranty concerns with the machine being modified. It's always best to ask this question BEFORE you had over your hard-earned cash for a machine, especially if you plan to install lift kits and bigger tires, but if they want your continued business they'll work with you.

Just ordered the rear bumper, it ships tomorrow...............thanks!
I am not worried about the mods/warranty issue, the dealer I bought it from is ok with all that stuff.

I just ordered the rears from

and should have them on this weekend. I liked the lower bumper for protection.

The factory dealer (D & E sport shop) told me that when I traded in my 07 500 that if it still had a waranty he would have voided it because of the reverse override. He said I altered the wiring without permission and being it is unexplored by polairs (BS) they wouldn't support it.
So the first thing I did was ask the other semi local polaris dealer and he said he had put a reverse lock in his sportsman, and saw no reason why he would hassle me if I went to him for warranty work.
I asked the factory dealer about the temp gauge, and he said they would allow it but they would need to install the probe, the other dealer didn't care.
Its a dealer preference i guess, they are the warranty police for polaris. I will continue to buy from the factory dealer because he has excellent pricing.
