If you plan on leaving the panel on the quad and cutting it out yourself you can make the cut out big enough where you can access the free spool clutch. IMO i think they look better with the panel left on and cut out

When I got my plate I got a template with it to cut mine out. I also cut the one side bigger to get to the clutch ****. Mine still has the whole word Polaris on it.</end quote></div>
That's one part of the quad I haven't seen a machete on. I was just using one of mine this afternoon.

Afternoon jumbofrank
That darn machete comes in handy round here, We got blackberry bush's that will yank you off a quad and cut the heck outta ya. I put one on the Wifes also. She helps clear the trails.

After I got my first machete everyone including my mom wanted one because they're so useful. One time some of my friends and I took several machetes, saws, and axes out and did some trail maintenance. The state wasn't taking care of it so we did. My friend keeps his machete jammed into the front fender/footwell joint of his Grizzly at all times.

The dealer I bought the cover from said it works fine for the 2.5k lb winch but the 3k sits a hair off to one side. He wasn't sure it would fit. It doesn't.
A pic would be great if you get a chance.
Thanks</end quote></div>
Here you go:

As you can see there is plenty of room to access the free spool lever as well.

n00b here but I figured Id post this here as it may be relevant. Just installed the Gorilla 3k winch and their mount plate, I wanted the hidden look and wanted just the fair lead exposed but no dice on the Gorilla. I guess the mount juts it out that far.

I ended up using the template that came with the winch to cut out the opening. I should have gotten a hole saw for the 1" holes at each corner. I used a spade bit that messed up one of the holes. I would probably pay $20 for a factory look but it looks okay.
