were the polaris outlaw 500s any good? Or was it just a predator with different plastics and irs?At some dealers they are being sold dirt cheap.

accually the outlaw 500 is a little different then the predator, the engine is all the same tho but the setup is different. the outlaw 500's are good quads, i rode my friends outlaw 500 when we went camping because my yamaha 2-stroke was in the shop, and it was a smoothe ride with plenty of power. i decided a little bit later to get an outlaw but decided to spend the extra cash for the KTM power. the only difference in the 500 and the 525 is the KTM engine, the steel braided lines, and some racing parts such as the fox shocks, and the razr-r tires, but you can add that stuff yourself... well mabye not the engine..

polaris is my ride, but yamaha runs through my veins

Early year Predators were just a ok machine compared to other quads in its class they we low on power for a 500cc machine and handleing was mediocre at best. As time went on every year Polaris made big strides in improvents and to this day with the Outlaw 525 still are, as I would say the 09's are one of the better quads money can buy! IMO

i have a 2007 preddy i rode my buddies 500 outlaw and to me it was the same machine the plastics really are not different they look almost the same the only real difference is the IRS which i think made it a little sluggish but i like the strait axle better myself easier to ride wheelies

i dont know about brand new, but for some unseen reason polaris atv's do not have a good resale value, the only polaris ive seen with good resale is the outlaws and the resale on them should be higher...

if you get the 500 outlaw you will not be dissapointed, also ajwilson, i like your predator, that white and black scheme looks terrific on it...

Do you think that now the 09 outlaws are redesigned that the 06-08s will go down in price?

Stock the Outlaw 500 put out about 2 more horsepower than the Predator 500. This was because of the stock intake design. The stock intake on the Predator was a joke and the Outlaw was a lot better. Hardly nobody leaves the stock setup on the Predator so they were really close in HP once the stock setup on the Predator was ditched.
