07 800 cutting out, back fireing, and poping through airbox
#11
I talked to the dealer today. They finished up the bike today replacing the front motor mount, which the bottom washer was completely gone, and installed a new donut gasket. They said that they could not find anything wrong with the motor. Its running good and has factory spec compression. I think the fact that it was loosing so much backpressure was the cause of it all. I'm just gona do another oil change and see how it goes from there. The only cost was a new air filter.

my 05 800 twin had a backfire in air box, missed, and died at an idle or at low RPM. my promble was the throttle body. there is a screw on the side of it so you can adjust it. but it will not last much longer. dealer adjusted mine about a month ago and is starting to have a little miss now. might help; hope you get it fixed.
