While Googling for new Power Distribution Moduals (PDM), I ran across a link interestingly enough leading back to this forum a year ago, dealing with some ECM/PDM Polaris "Safety" recalls.

First I heard of any recalls - from Polaris or otherwise.

I've been having one-'ell-of-a-problem with the electrical system on my '06 Sportsman 500 EFI X2, and I'm a-wonderin' if there might be a connection.

Yes they is a recall.............I never did get a notice in the mail here in Canada............But called the dealer by phone and he wanted both VIN numbers..............So call your dealer and give him the vin number over the phone or e-mail and he will tell you if it's on the list............As I said before...........Mine had the up-graded Silver one done twice now........ and both were free of charge to me and now after running the vin#'s again..........He wants both my wife's and I back for a new one.........Caper.......

 

maybe some one from a dealership here can run your vin to see if its on the recall list which im guessing is. i got a recall letter on my 06' 450(which we dont have anymore).

Does anyone have a phone number to Polaris that connects to someone who knows what is going on?

Dealers are a bit iffy.

 

Try calling a few dealers..............There is also a recall in Canada (Transport Canada) for some models for the reflectors........They don't meet the standards .........Caper........

 

If you google "polaris atv recall" it pulls up several pages listing the years and models recalled for ECMs.

If you google any other brand you'll see that all major brands have been recalled for one thing or another. But some people with "good" brands think our "junk" quads are only ones with problems.
