Default 2004.5 Sportsman shock adjustments

I have two Polaris 2004.5 Sportsman quads, one 400, and one 500. I want to adjust the suspension to a more firm setting. Does this require a special tool (I don't want to use a pipe wrench or other tool that will damage the adjuster).

If you don't want to buy a Polaris shock wrench you can get a generic one at any motorcycle place. They make adjustable ones too so you don't have to worry about what size to get. Some people use pipe wrenches or channel locks but I know someone who broke the collar that way.

Thank you. Does this wrench have tabs that grab the cut outs along the top of the adjustment collar?

No disrespect to you Frank or LtSniper but I always have used the pipe wrench and always thought that it was easy and harmless. I am very **** about my bike so I know where you are comming from.

No disrespect noted.
I am the type of guy that will usually use the wrong tool and too much force breaking the part. I just thought that since these items have slots around the tops, they are probably there for a reason so this time, at least, I would ask someone who has done it before.
