I was reading on the Honda forum where a Ruby was out pulling all comers. They were using a progressive weight sled. The ground was wet sand. There was even a tricked out sp that could not beat him. Maybe these Hondas are for real...

i think rider ability has alot more to do with this than people think. a idiot on a sp500 can't beat a good rider on a bayou 220.

the sp500 is usually the best quad in the snow and mud because of the 4wd system, the cvt and the ground clearance. wheather the rider has the skils to use the machine to the best of its abilites is at question

later

I just love reading on this forum how great the rubys are and how bad the sportsmans are. Give us a break and bash the yamahas for a while. I dont mind maintence on my machine, it gives me time to look it over for problems. If maintaining you 4x4 is too much trouble by all means dont get a polaris, if it breaks you will think its the machines fault! Still no problems to report with mine.

The Rubicon is starting to give the Sportsman some competion & its no longer the undisputed king. It is the disputed king.

Both great machines, both have their problems, which leaves plenty of fuel for gentlemanly discussion. But Yamahas, THEY S**K!!! Nah, I'm just kidding! I like yamas and hondas, I just don't see the point of owning one. Now if they'd come out with a Raptor with Independent rear suspension, wide track, big tires, desert racer, with fuel injection,,, I'd be on it. 'cause what I just described is a hot rod Sportsman that weighs 250 lbs less than it does now. And that is
the ULTIMATE QUAD my friends.

Alot more power, longer plusher suspension, true selectable 4wd and in Canada $1500 less.I,d would say it is still king around here.Dirt wheels only could uses the SP H.O to campare with the Grizzly 600 because of there power the two machines are in a league of there own in 4x4 Utilities.
