I think you misunderstood Tim. When we go riding there is me on my Wolverine, goattrotter on his Rubicon and another friend on a 450ES. Goattrotter's father sometimes comes along on his own Rubicon, but is not into the hill climbing, jumping and getting stuck like the rest of us are.
Seriously Tim, I try and stay out of the "my quad is better than yours" kind of discussions, but you should come and see what other quads can do. You may find something that your Polaris does better than the others, but I'll garantee that you won't be saying your quad is the best.
And I do agree with you that the price out the door should be a factor to consider, but so should be the cost of ownership. If you can say that Polaris wins on that front, you're living in a dreamworld.

And Hocifer, Goattrotter is not going to put me in my place. Like I said, anybody can avoid getting stuck on their quad, but if you want to see what your quad can really do, sometimes you're going to have to find out what it can't do.
You'll never know how big a hill you can climb, or how big a mud hole you can cross until you find one that you just can't do.

That' unbelievable that they would edit that out that quickly!!! Do they think that if people discover the Highlifter, or other forums they won't come back here? Stop being so uptight! I thought these forums were meant so that ATVers could help each other out. If you delete references to other helpful sites, you're not helping very much.
And you shouldn't worry anyway...the Highlifter froum is too specific to mudding and rarely offers advice or information on things that are available here.

No offense taken. I like to take the time to educate people to the benefits another quad manufacture may have to offer. When someone is talking trash about my quad and are recklessly spreading lies about something they absolutely know nothing about. I will respond. I like to use these forums to educate myself, share stories and what not.

I don't trash anyone's quad regardless of the manufacture. And I don't live in a city that's called Polarisrules_japcrapsux, WA, with a real name of Jack Mehoff. With this he's just asking for it. He's in here for only one reason and none of the info he has to offer is meaningful.

hiofcer,

Okay man, I hadn't thought about it quite like that, but that seems like a good answer to me.

I can list the problems on my friends 1995 polaris sportsman 400 4x4 system, It doesnt work! Some times the front wheels will start to spin regardless of the button position, the bearings for the chain are bad, the left wheel now wont move when 4x4 is on. and a whole slew of other problems are malfunctioning indicators and speedometer wont work! This machine has seen some minor neglect, but my 1983 Honda 200s ATC has seen so much neglect it would make you cry and it still runs fine with nothing but an oil change. The electrical system is still good and the bearings are too
Go Polaris!!!!!
