my 2004 sportsman 400 4x4 suddenly will not go over 20. The belt is proper width and possibly proper tightness. My son was riding it so not sure how or when this happened. Getting gas and it revs up just no speed on the ground past 20mph. It's not in 4wheel drive. The brakes are free and wheels turn fine. Jacked up the rearend and started it up with trans cover off and it seems to run fine clutch runs in and out with out sticking or hesitation. Any ideas???

 

Sounds like a stuck sheeve to me????

 

check your ramps on secondary , probably melted
