how many hours can a 500ho run before they start having troubles.

 

There are tons of guys on here with thousands of miles on their 500s. I only have about 1000 miles on each of our quads and they are holding up fine. No oil burning or anything like that. And about 3/4 of that mileage is the hard going variety. Great engine. I believe it's made by Fuji Heavy Industries in Japan. They also own Subaru if my memory is correct.

 

About 1/2 of our miles are are slow going the other 30 to 40MPH. We have just over 3200 miles on our 02' Sportman 500HO, mine a little more than the wife's and neither use oil and no lose of power. You can add a few miles at 50MPH for those times we are on blacktop and need to get off quick.

 

I have two Rangers both with over 1,700 hours and no worries!

 

99 Sportsman 500 8900 miles...2007 Sportsman 500 EFI Deluxe 5400 miles no problems..Motors still running strong...

 

The most miles I had on one was 4,000 but it never needed anything except oil changes twice a year. A lot of those miles were back and forth plowing my driveway. I think it was around 500 hours.

 

I service one with 1000 hours and 10,000 miles on it, still runnin fine.
