scrambler 400 front suspension

Does anyone have any good ways to make the front suspension on the scrambler less hard. I have seen that works and fox make struts and progressive has a spring kit. Which way should I go.

I went w/ the Works struts which is a very smooth ride compaired to stock. There is unseated sag on the Works & then it sags even more when seated. Plus its adjustable so you can let the air out to make it softer yet which you can probably do since it's set up for 5' jumps & if you dont do jumps then you can back off the presure. It is a very soft ride & is great on jumps too.

I just purchased the Polaris long travel Fox struts for my Scram also I had the rear one rebuilt. They are supposed to be here tomorrow or friday. I was going to go with just the dual rate springs but I saw that the factory springs were dual rate. I decided to improve the dampening first and see what that gives me. Plus now all my shocks & struts are rebuildable.
When they`re installed, hopefully this weekend, I`ll go jump some snow banks and see if there is a noticeable difference. HTH

Works "steeler" struts go for around 239$ per pair. The dual rate springs have been around for a year or so and are also very nice.(around 300$ for front and rear) I have only had one "real" event happen with them so far to show me they work better than stock:
My buddy was stuck in the snow so I decided to go give him a hand. Being on a road and seeing a 3 foot high snowbank I decided to plow through the powder. Unfortunately under that powder was a curb and some hard icy snow. I went flying strait up, not to high, but came down very plush. If I would have had the stock suspension it just would not of handled as good and I would have ended up eating my handle bars again. Well worth investing in.

Works should have something to fit, 99 is the only year for the Sachs. 98 & under use Gabriel and 00 and up use Fox. Polaris lists the long travel Fox struts available for all years except 99 with Sachs. HTH
