Just had my rear Fox rebuilt this week, picked it up and installed it last night. It cost $60. They took it apart cleaned it and recharged it. If seals were needed it would cost another $20. Also before they take it apart they take a pressure reading to see how much pressure has been lost.
The owner of the dealer I go to whom I deal with most of the time and trust his tech advise, said they don`t do a lot of atv shocks but they do a lot of snowmobile shocks and what he finds is a lot of shocks from the factory do not have the recommended pressure in them. People tell him after they have their shock rebuilt it performs better than when it was new. His recommendation was to do this annually depending on the amount & severity of riding you do.
Just as a side note my rear shock was low on pressure but did not need seals after 3 years. The struts however were shot (I purchased & installed the long travel fox struts at the same time) I could compress them with 1 finger retracting was a little more difficult. HTH
Can`t wait to ride it & jump it now!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all. I got the fox struts and installed them.(I got a great deal $100 each normally $130) They added about an inch of travel. They really pick up the front end letting the bike use more of the softer part of the progressive spring while getting harder the more they compress. As for my stock mcphersons they are like butter which explains why my front end was so hard because the combiation of me and the bike took away almost all of the soft part of the progressive springs. What a difference, the bike is not as darty on the little bumps and as for the jumps they are smooth as can be. I hit some pretty nice size jumps getting about 4 feet of air and haven't bottomed out yet.
Thanks for the input
