ya the heat does suck for sure and i know people like^^ has done the wrap w/ good results. myself its just not worth it to do all that when i can put on pants instead.[img][/img]</end quote></div>
Mine was uncomfortable with pants, I always wear pants, but I do alot of slow trail riding. With a little speed it wasn't bad, but creeping through the trails I ride alot it got pretty dang hot, bad thing about it was wearing pants you dont realize it at first and once you do it is too late to move your leg because the pants are now smoking hot. I've found that if you leave enough skin on the exhaust each time that eventually you won't feel the heat anymore......or even feel the inside of your right leg for that matter! LOL!

Yeah the smell of burned flesh is making me nauseated, so I think I will wrap the pipe like you did!

MYWAYOUT,

Welcome back man! I too have the 08 800 like you, HO and Stendori.
It does get hot. Rather than wrapping the pipe or coating it you would
think that somebody would have an improved heat shield Set system to install
on it that covers the length of the pipe and muffler. My KOLPIN Stealth Exhaust
came with a heat shield that covered muffler part (slip on).

That or polaris could spend another $2 tops and make the heat shield run the exposed length. lol Maybe us Polaris owners are too resourceful and don't call Polaris and complain enough? We make it work so they don't have to.

Good to hear from eveyone on this...
I too will suffer through the heat and find a solution to the problem when I should be complaining to Polaris about it... They just send me to the dealer and I take pride in my dealer too much to confront him once a week about it.
We will find a solution to the problem until then... I suggest Ride fast and don't look back!

Welcome back MYWAYOUT. It's been a long time since I've visited the sight as well. A LOT of new folks here...don't recognize any names. Where did everyone go?

Anyways, congrats on the new ride. Too bad Pol has not addressed the heat issue. Afterall, the 800 has been out for a few years now, hasn't it?

Just wondering why you didn't wait for the all-new 850?

Well, I decided to stay with the 800 and not up to the 850 because of the plow that I have and all the spare parts... Price was great due to the release of the 09's... and the fact that my 06 800 had been rolled hard once and simply rode hard and put away wet too many times.
