700 EFI Diagnostic troubleshooting
Tech question,
I have an 05 - 700 EFI. My "check engine" stays on continiously. I did a diagnostic check and codes 45, 46, 41 come up. The book tells what each problem is.
This may have been self inflicted. My battery was low and I had to jump it. Once it started I went to remove the positive and it slipped and grounded to the frame for a nano second. This was a year ago and I'm starting to experiance trouble when it's running.
Q-1.....Here is my question.......Is this plug and play parts or do I need to take it to a dealer to have it reset?
Q-2........I have a had continous issue with my coil. I'm always missing a cylinder and have had to replace the plug wire 3 times. I ran a ground strap to hopfully help with this. It more prvelant when wet. I had noticed they have replaced the part number with another. Have any of you experianced this
Any help or suggestions you may have will be apprciated.

grounding has been an issue for some so another ground w/ dielectric grease wouldnt hurt. unhook the battery for a little while then rehook to erase the codes to see if they come back. check the battery for voltage as well to see what it has off and w/ the bike running reved up to see if the out pt is right. just an idear.

Easy enough, I should have thought about diconnecting the battery but I over looked the obivious. This is a good start, Thanks for the tip. I did use diolectic grease and completly disasembled the coil and shined the meatal up before reinstall. I stopped at the dealer and conveyed my issues, he had a dumb stare and said to bring it in. Agian thanks for the tip.
PS. they had a new 850 on the floor, pretty cool but at 8500 I'll keep mine.
