do you guys all use the 0W-40 synthetic polaris oil or are there other alternatives? i hate having to run to the dealer to get oil and they said it will blow up if i use other oils! just checking cuz im sure it was a sales pitch! thanks!

 

I hate to sound like one of "those guys", but I do use the Polaris Gold. I honestly don't know if it's any better or worse than any other oil, but I did notice it smokes less than others I've used. I'll stick with it.

You say you are using Mobil 1 synthetic 0W40. Where are you buying it at? I have checked almost everywhere and cannot find a synthetic 0W40. I was not aware that Mobil 1 made a 0W40. The closest that I have found was 5W30.

 

I found it at Wally-world. it was separate from the 5-30 SYN. I have only seen it there once. I bought 6 quarts.(3 changes) I will double check though , ( to make sure of the weight) before I was using the 5-30 MOBIL SYN. It's not extremely cold here, so I feel 5 weight is safe. Valvoline 10W-30 Durablend. I've used valvoline in every vehicle of any kind I've EVER had. Cars, trucks, quads, bikes, lawnmowers, no oil related failures in over 20 years.

 

i have found mobil 0W-30 how does that compare with the 0w_40? is it just not as "thick"
i cant find the 0w-40 anywhere either but the mobil is less that half the price of polaris so i would like to find the mobil!!

 

0-40 semi synthetic "Esso" brand oil in Canada, but I change every 50 hours to be safe.
