I just bought a 94 Polaris Sportsman 400 4x4 from a friend. I think I stole it at $600. It looks good & runs great, just needs new front CV boots & a brake lever. I did have a few questions & was hoping you guys could help me out.

1. I was trying to locate an owner's manual but can't find one online.

2. He has somehow bypassed the oil injection gas mix thingy so that he can pre-mix it. What is the best type of oil for this and is 50:1 the ratio I should be using?

3. Is the rear light supposed to stay on all the time?

1.try ebay for a Clymer manual that covers Polaris atvs up 95 or 96
2.40:1 you will burn it up at 50:1
3.Yes it is on all the time

 

eeek burning it up is not good.
How do I check the oil injectors to see if they will work or where do I look to undo the bypass ?

 

THe pump is located on the front lower part of the motor in a square cover.Take the cover off check lever and cable.
