Default Lock the glove box?

Has anybody found a neat way to put a key lock for the front stage thing on the Polaris. Not an ugly palock thing.
I wish Polaris would have done that with the same key. I'd be nice to be able to lock it when I have to hike a ways to see something.

Howdy max49.....check this out. Exchange the latch for the stock Polaris. Looks close. Good luck.

NoJoke, were you able to do this on your quad? That would have been a much simpler route than I took. I bought an ATP lock set that works for the ATP front box. I ended up using half the parts from the ATP set and half the existing X2 set. It was not easy but I've got a locking box that looks like it came from the factory.

Howdy Moose.....I haven't done so yet but have been thinking about it. max49's post kinda kicked up the dust in the idea bin. I measured up the length and diameter of the stock twist lock and it seems this lock would subsitute OK. The only time consumer would be the latch modification....maybe. The price seems reasonable.

isnt the stock lock more like a hook on the bottom(cant rememeber)? would it hold up to bouncing on rough trails? would be a nice idea though.

The ATP locks work very well on rough trails. By locking them they don't come open at all. Even unlocked they've been very good about staying closed. I think I used the X2 hooks, and cylinder (The part the whole mechanism turns within, which I had to shave about an 1/8th inch off). I used the ATP lock mechanism and had to drill a hole in each one where the lock mechanism extended a pin when closed and locked. It's tough to explain. It took me awhile to figure it out. I looked for the part number for the ATP front box locks but could not find it.

Do you have a link for these ATP locks? Can you post pics of your invention? It sounds like a good idea.

Default Lock the glove box?

Good topic I was wondering about all of this myself. My cousin and I were just talking about it over last
weekend. I think the link on here will suffice for the Rear cargo as far as the TYPE of lock. Stendori is right
our Front storage latches are hook type. So I think this flat would cater more to the rear. BUT don't go buy
them on my OPINION. I haven't measure them nor anything. I would be interested to see how this thread
develops. I think everyone could us lockable storage.

Regards,

The flat latch is removable as is the Polaris twist lock hook latch. Remove the flat latch on the new lock and replace with the hook latch of the Polaris twist lock. The latch mounting hole may be a bit different and have to be modified a little. Looks like it would work.
