2008 Sportsman 500 Idling problems
Hello all --
I recently purchased a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500; it. It is my first ATV, so it as been exciting. It really is a great machine, but I have been having some troubling problems. The last times I have gone out, I have had significant trouble trying to start it up. I know that the Sportsman is supposed to start the first time, every time, but I cannot make that happen. I have to feather the gas and rev the engine to wake it up.
That is a tolerable problem. However, even after choking and revving the engine for several minutes, the machine will shut off by itself if it is not being driven. In addition, after it has been driven for a substantial amount of time, in the amount of time it takes to switch from reverse to drive, the engine will stop running.
Has anyone had problems similar to this? Any suggestions?
